Dual Pixels: "Its been 8 years since the whereabouts of the original Devil May Cry Gang. Luckily Capcom decided to re-release the Devil May Cry we all know and love with a few new additions. If you played Devil May Cry 4 many years ago and didnt like the backtracking and level design this game might not be for you, but if you are a fan of Devil May Crys combat system step right in. "

Bad Demoman writes, "Devil May Cry 4 was one of my first forays in to what was then The Next Generation, on the Xbox 360. I'd played the first Devil May Cry and unfortunately the second as well. I considered DMC4 to be my favourite of the series, having missed out DMC3 which later attained that title with its Special Edition that allowed you to play as both Vergil and Dante. The variety really improved the replay value, something that DMC has always strived for mostly through increasingly ridiculous difficulty levels. But now DMC4 has a Special Edition of its own, with a roster of five very different characters to play as. Will this re-release capture my favour, or will DMC3 keep it in its grip?"

| Game of the Month: The Best PlayStation Games of June 2015

Push Square: "Wow, and we thought that May was a weak month. To be fair, the rules of Game of the Month state that we can't include re-releases of any kind that have appeared on a PlayStation console in the past, so the likes of the great Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition missed out on a chance at victory by default. Plus, with us still badgering away on our review of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, that avoided making the cut, too. Still, June was pretty lacking when it came to big new releases, but nevertheless, we eventually managed to scrape together a somewhat decent list of wannabe winners. Bet you can't guess what took our coveted Platinum Trophy, though."

From the review: "Fans of the series will have the most fun with this, but for others who haven't played any of these games, will most likely have serious problems with the fixed camera and backtracking. The combat is very good but for me, everything else is nothing but frustration. "

From the review: "If you already love Devil May Cry 4, then this brand new special edition is everything you could hope for. It looks great, runs fast and is loaded with playable characters. On the other hand, new players may not be able to overlook some of the game's outdated designs, including fixed camera perspectives and tons of backtracking."

Neil writes "Im not a fan of the famous pinging Capcom menus or stat dominated rankings. Im not a fan of rubbish voice overs and Im most definitely not a fan of the scary obsession with the female form. I can pretty much take or leave the complete and utter focus on style over substance as well."
